Having realistic expectations is key to being a good candidate for liposuction here at Restore SD Plastic Surgery in San Diego. And the healthier you are, the better your end results will be.
How much weight can I expect to lose with liposuction?
Realistic expectations help you to understand that the liposuction procedure provides amazing results, but no results are 100 percent perfect. Realistic expectations include an understanding that liposuction is a fat removal procedure and it is not a weight loss treatment. This means that at the end of your treatment, you may lose two pounds. These two pounds will be in strategic areas that have been causing problems, but they will not make it possible for an individual who weighs 160 pounds to wear the same clothing that they did when they weighed 130 pounds.
What makes a good liposuction candidate?
When it comes to health, a good liposuction candidate does not have conditions that could produce complications. This includes a medical history of immunodeficiency disorders. Individuals who have seizures, excessive bleeding, deep vein thrombosis, or who have a history of developing blood clots in the lungs would likely not be the best candidates for liposuction.
Good skin elasticity is key to having even results. If you do not have good skin elasticity, then your skin may have a slightly wrinkled appearance. Still, many individuals who don’t have the best skin elasticity are happy with their reduced size, even if their skin does have some slight wrinkling.
Can liposuction treat multiple areas at the same time?
While the option does exist to work on multiple areas of the body on the same day, treating too many areas may negatively impact the healing of all the areas. Our goal is to give you smooth and natural looking results. This means that we may recommend treating different areas during different sessions.
