The Options

Everyone heals differently and scars have many different characteristics. Once you have scar it important to understand that you always have a scar. The Surgery

Depending on the size and location of your scar, scar revision can be performed in the office, in an accredited ambulatory surgery center, or in the hospital setting. Scar revision is usually done as an outpatient procedure and the duration of the procedure varies by size and location of the scar. Your individualized plan may include laser treatment of the scar before surgery, at the time of surgery, or after surgery. Skin care is a vital part of scar rehabilitation and the Restore SD team will provide you with individual recommendations from our medical quality product lines in the office. The Recovery

Scar revision is usually done in the office or outpatient setting and you can go home with a responsible adult after recovering from anesthesia. Recovering from scar revision surgery is critically important to the final healing and appearance of the scar. Protecting the healing scar from sun exposure as well as using a silicone-based scar gel will help optimize your recovery. You will see your Restore SD surgeon for follow-up and will be gradually guided back to your usual activities. Most complications arise from getting too active too early so please schedule your scar revision procedure to allow enough time to adequately recover and resume your more vigorous activities.

The Combined Procedures

Scar revision can be performed as a stand-alone procedure or combined with other surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, liposuction, facial rejuvenation, or non-invasive procedures such as laser therapy or Botox.
