How Can I Benefit from a Facelift?

facelift

When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see? Have you used non-invasive and minimally-invasive treatments in order to address your wrinkles and sagging skin, but you feel like you are not really getting good results? If so, it may be time to consider a facelift.

Is a facelift right for you?

There is no exact age that a person needs to be in order to have a facelift performed. Many things are taken into consideration when making a determination if it is right for a patient. One of the things that is often good to look at is if the person has used less invasive treatments but no longer feels satisfied with the results. This is important because less invasive options usually provide great results, especially in their first years of use. For example, dermal fillers can go a long way in addressing static wrinkles. However, there will come a point when more is needed.

It is good to have realistic expectations for what a facelift can and cannot do for you. There have been a variety of studies done that show that an individual can experience a reduction in their perceived age. However, a person should not expect to look like they are 18 again. In most cases, an individual can expect to look anywhere from 5 to 10 years younger. However, results vary from patient to patient.

In order to qualify for a facelift, you will need to meet with Dr. Gallus and have your overall health evaluated to make sure that you do not have any health issues that will stop you from getting the best results from the procedure. Dr. Gallus will also also examine your facial anatomy and make sure that your skin is in the right condition in order to benefit from this procedure. You must have good skin elasticity in order to enjoy the best results.

If it is determined that a facelift is right for you, Dr. Gallus will give you exact instructions on what you will need to do to prepare for the procedure. For example, you have the best chances of having the procedure performed if you stop smoking as soon as possible. This will help your body to heal after the procedure.
